How to Be As Confident As Tom Cruise

How to Be As Confident As Tom Cruise

Often used him dodge bullets, you've seen him bring the not so good guys to justice and you have even seen him effortlessly mingle with all the rich and beautiful. Whether he's the action hero in 007 or the reserved Jack Reacher one thing's for sure - Tom Cruise has enough self-confidence to illuminate a city. Pathological Shyness

Don't be fooled by appearances though. It is easy to watch the movies and acquire the wrong idea about what self-confidence is really. You might get the wrong impression and demand an excessive amount of yourself, you might think you ought to be highly confident in every situation and all of the time or you're failing, failing badly. But that would not be true. It is certain Tom Cruise has self-doubt sometimes just like the rest of us you alone never hear about it.

Confidence has an ebb and flow just like any other feeling, and that's all it is, a feeling, a sense that "yes, I'm able to do it". And it doesn't take much to chip away your self- confidence. If you have a few days with very little sleep rather than enough good nourishment, you'll become physically and emotionally less capable. You will be weaker, you won't be as confident. And even for good reason, you'll have a smaller sense of being able to do what must be done. In other words, you should have less self-confidence.

Of course, it seems like this never transpires with Tom Cruise. He can enjoy high-speed car chases, not sleep all night pursuing criminals yet still exude that relaxed charisma that produces the leading lady smile. Unfortunately that isn't real life and it's not a good standard against which to self assess your self-confidence.

Exactlty what can you do to enjoy more self-confidence?

Take better care of your physical, mental and emotional needs each day and you'll have a solid basis out of which to express your natural self-confidence. Eat foods that give you energy and steer clear of those that weaken your system, get the rest and recuperation you will need and spend time with supportive and loving people. Do this consistently and you'll be inside the best possible condition to express yes to life, to say yes to new challenges also to persist and succeed where others give up. Shyness In Children

These same principles connect with becoming more confident with people. It is possible to know what to say to people and you can even know how to cope with strangers and get people talking but none of them of that will work too well if you're having a bad day. If you're worried about pressing problems, tired, hungry or feeling unsupported all of these issues will chip away at the confidence with people. And if this happens do not beat yourself up regarding it. Simply notice what went down and more importantly how you got into that poor frame of mind. Only then can you identify what changes you should make.

For example, within the last few days I was drinking too much coffee, spending too much effort at the computer and forgetting you can eat at meal times. And, this is okay for one day however, this went on for a few days. The next thing I know I'm meeting people and my mind goes blank, I don't know what to say and I can't be bothered to create small talk. Why? Since i chipped away inside my self-confidence by weakening my body. I became less capable because I tired myself out. So, this hits me, by the way I'm out of balance. Time to exercise more, set a better routine for meal times and spend less time checking out the computer.

Then, the boldness starts flowing again. I'm energetic, happy and attached to people, I enjoy meeting people again and everything begins to click.

So, my point is, confidence needs fuel, and also you provide that fuel by taking good care of your physical, emotional and mental needs. As you get stronger, you'll feel effective at achieving more i.e. you might be more confident. Then, you naturally learn to stretch beyond your safe place, you are on a roll and before you know it maybe you start to feel like you're Tom Cruise!
